Funeral Details

Sherwin E Pakin, age 84, of Chicago. Died December 14, 2022. Graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology in Industrial Engineering and Mathematics and where he met his beloved wife Sandra (nee Preis). He also received an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago. Proud father of Scott (Anna) Pakin and Stacy (Barnett), loving grandfather of Zeke, Cody, Sonya, and Ari. Sherwin worked for IBM long enough to get a pension and then joined Sandra to create Sandra Pakin & Associates, a computer documentation consultancy where he worked until retiring. Sherwin served on the Light Opera (now Musical Theater) board of directors and was president of the Independent Computer Consultants Association (ICCA). He loved the opera, listening to music, writing his own songs, writing stories for his family, and reading everything under the sun -- magazines, newspapers, journals, books. A memorial service will be held at Emanuel Congregation (5959 N. Sheridan) on Monday, December 19 at 11:00.
