To Carol's family, I extend my sincere condolences.
I became acquainted with Carol and Walter z"l many years ago, when we were neighbors on Seward in Evanston. They gave me a ride to the Loop almost daily during the work week in the second half of 1979. I was pregnant at the time. Carol told Walter it wouldn't be right for me to have to take the bus and then the train. She insisted. She could be very persuasive.
We didn't stay in touch, once my husband and I moved to Skokie, but I have never forgotten the kindness your parents/grandparents demonstrated.
May both their memories be for a blessing.

Carol was a tremendous community leader and zealous advocate for civil rights. We are so thankful for her many years of service and devotion to the Decalogue Society of Lawyers. May her memory always be for a blessing. Wishing her family comfort and strength at this time.

When I was nascent Jewish communal professional, there was no single lay person who guided me more than Carol. She gave me brutally honest feedback as well as constructive criticism. But while her style was a bit different, the interactions were always helpful and meaningful. It is always made me smile when she would boast of having the only kosher home in Vilas County, Wisconsin. The world has lost a true woman of valor.. Rest in peace Carol.
