OBITUARY

Barbara Michaels Weinstock, age 95, passed away peacefully of natural causes on Tuesday, December 17, in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Born and raised in Highland Park, Illinois, Barbara later raised her family in Larchmont, New York, and on Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts. She was also a long-time resident of Boca Raton, where she volunteered and became a leader in that chapter of AAKP, and Baltimore, MD, where she developed a tight social circle. Throughout her life, she was deeply devoted to her family and friends, who were always at the center of her world. She had a lifelong love of art and was an artist herself. She greatly enjoyed playing tennis and bridge. Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Belle Michaels; her brothers, Joseph and Stephen Michaels; her daughter, Elisa Brickner; and her husbands, Rabbi Balfour Brickner and Harold Weinstock. She is survived by her two sons, Rabbi Barnett Brickner and his wife Erin, and Adam Brickner and his wife Angelique; her stepdaughter, Nancy Levy, and her husband, Dr. Dan Levy; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren, along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral services Monday, January 5th, 2:00 PM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Boulevard, Skokie, IL 60077. Interment Rosehill Cemetery. Barbara will be remembered as a blessing by her family and friends, whose lives were enriched by her presence, her fortitude, and her love.
