It is with a severe emptines in my heart that I send this message . I would like to extend my heartfelt condolences to the Engel and Goldstein families and of course Mary on the passing of Bobby. He was my oldest friend. Hardly a day would pass that we didn't speak, if only for a few minutes. We grew together through good times and bad - Happy and sad. We were always there for each other.

Please rest in peace Bobby
Love you Barry

I am devastated by Bob’s passing. I became close friends with Scott in the fall of ‘94 when I started high school at Stevenson. 30 years this year. The Engel’s were like a second family to me. Bob was as close to a second father to me. Loved the times I spent with him and getting me hooked onto deep dish pizza at Burt’s in Morton Grove. He loved showing off his white corvette in the garage and shot pool with him plenty even though I was not very good. I will always cherish those memories. I know he’s proud of his family and looking down on them always. I send my love and condolences to the entire family during this difficult time. Rest in Peace Bob!

In junior high school we had a group of friends with a strong bond. We spent a lot of time together. The swimming pool, the recreation center and Friday night dances. Bob was part of our group. He was kind and warm and fun to spent time with. Although I have not seen him in many years, Trudy would let us know how he was and say hello from us. Bob and I had a special bond . We shared a birthday. I would like to send my condolences to his family and loved ones. May his memory be a blessing to all who loved him.

As a very close friend of Scott, I also had the privilege and honor of getting to know Bobby, who we affectionately referred to as “Jimmy Buffett” due to, in many of our opinions, his resemblance to the late singer. Bobby was a caring and loving man behind it all, and was there to advise and console me during my late son Nathan’s battle with cancer. I will always remember remember Bobby for his sense of humor, devotion to his family and strong opinions, especially regarding his love of foods (especially from the Chicago area) and sports teams. Gone but NEVER forgotten. As Bob Dylan wrote: “I’ll remember you.”

Love to all the family and friends,
