Noah Marcell was my childhood friend's father. Aside from being Arik and Beatriz's (Bibi) father he was a polyglot. When my own family was seeking someone to translate letters from my family in Poland sent to my grandfather in Chicago before they were killed in the Holocaust, my cousin called me and told me she finally found someone to translate the letters from Yiddish to English. She asked if I would join her to meet him. She said his name was Noah Marcell. "I know him" I told her. That is Arik's father!" And so my family has it's own personal connection to Noah Marcell...a connection that will remain as a relic of my family. That is extra special to me. Noah was a talented driven man. It's good to have a piece of him in all of us in some way. May his memory always be a blessing.

I was saddened to hear of the family's loss. I remember his & his daughter's wonderful joyous entertainment especially in Yiddish. Also fondly recall his lovely Mom, Mrs. Marbell, who was a good friend and neighbor of my Bubbie Eva Glickman. Our people have lost the simcha of his lively sounds. My condolences to all.
