Dr Melnick was a wonderful colleague who inspired others to serve; several decades ago, when I was a young dentist, I was fortunate enough to meet him and was one of a handful of people who borrowed the portable equipment that he stored in his office for what was then the IFDH. He was admired and loved, and will certainly be missed and remembered.
