Although I only met your mom a few times, her love for her family and her friendly warmth toward others was obvious to me. When we did see each other, she always gave that greeting that made me feel we had known each other for ages. She had that gracious, welcoming way about her.
Your mother, I know, will be sorely missed by all of her family but by her many friends as well.

From the first day I met Sheila I thought what a beautiful and classic woman. The special moments and memories will live on and may those left behind find solace in them, handing the special stories down from one generation to the next. Amen.

I would come to Chicago to see my family and Sheila was part of my family. I had to see Sheila and the girlfriends that she and I had together and I got these girls together and they would not see each other for months but when I came in, they knew they were going to be together and they all look forward to it. It was so wonderful to see them and to be together with them. If only for a day and we had such a good time Sheila was a wonderful person and she was so kind and sweet and truly interested in you and what you were doing and we always had wonderful feelings for each other. She came to both my girls wedding weddings, Elaine and Dayna and she was happy to be there. We were so happy to have her there we will miss her terribly. My phone number is 818-416-7786 and I will send you $100 to help with the Shiva and the Funeral or whatever you need for God bless you girls.

I can still remember the first time I met SheShe my freshman year of college when she was helping Mallory move into our dorm room. She left the place looking fabulous, of course. I feel so lucky that I got to continue to get to know her in the years that followed. I always looked forward to seeing her, giving her a hug, and catching up when she was in Cincy. She was the absolute sweetest and always brightened up any room. I will miss her dearly.

From the very first time Janet and I met Sheshe at Josh and Mallory’s engagement party, we knew how fortunate Josh would be to become part of her family. Sheshe welcomed us with such love and kindness and it meant so much to both of us. Just talking to her and getting to know her made us recognize the love Sheshe had for her entire family. We are happy to have known her for this short period of time but would have enjoyed spending more time with her at future family gatherings. Rest in peace, Sheshe, and know you will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers. With love from Tim and Janet

I have had the pleasure of meeting Sheila well over 30 years and some when she opened her wonderful boutique in our beauty salon. She had a very attractive look and was always dressed so sharp and wore her clothes and jewelry so well. We had so many pleasures and memories from dinners out, with friends, parties at my house dinners at Myriam’s house and going to Michiana . We also stayed at her house when we sold ours and were waiting to get in our place. How many people would do that . I know she was a fighter but behind her fight she had three beautiful daughters that never forgot who their Mom was. I am so happy that she was able to see two of her grandkids get married. I will miss you my friend. I am so glad I spoke with you before I left for Greece

There is an empty place in my heart for Sheila that will never be filled. I have known her since 5th grade and have shared a lifetime of memories, lots of memories. She was so special in so many ways, a "one of a kind". I will miss you "girlfriend". I love you XOXO!

"Sheila Sheila baseball Batt" a loving phrase by a longtime friend of Sheila's. She was always there for those who knew her from the boutique to friends and family. You will be missed so much. Sheila fought a long battle and now rest in peace. Love Tammy

Dear Debbie and the entire Popkin family.
Sending you so much love as you grieve your mom. Sheila was a force — funny, honest, and never afraid to say what she thought, which is exactly what I adored about her. I'll carry those Florida "roommate" visits with me, and she'll be in my thoughts far more often than the dishwasher alone would explain. With deepest sympathy, - David & Patricia Marne
