OBITUARY

Gary S. Kushner, age 89

A tax preparer, accountant, and a lifelong resident of Chicago Illinois passed away at 10am on October 31st, 2023. He passed peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side. The beloved son of Harry and Dorothy, the devoted brother of Shirley and her husband Melville Reid, whom Gary treasured as a best friend, a kind and benevolent uncle to his nephews Michael and Bob. Later in life, Gary remarried his wife of 26 years Idele Light Kushner and her three sons, Jim, Bruce, Ted and Ted's wife, Ishalee. Gary attended Senn high school and was a leader in his ROTC unit. In 1952 he was drafted into the army and served 2 years as a clerk. After being honorably discharged from the army, Gary went to business school, graduated and continued his career in tax preparation and accounting. Gary's legacy is that of a kind and benevolent man of the utmost integrity. A man to be trusted. His legions of friends and clients who worship him are testament to this fact. Graveside services will be held at Westlawn Cemetery, 7801 W Montrose Ave, Norridge, at 1:30PM on Thursday, October 2nd, 2023. A memorial luncheon for Gary will be held on Thursday, October 9th at 2PM in Arlington Heights.
