OBITUARY
Marc Levenstein died on his 88th birthday, September 4. Beloved husband for 59 years of Angela Levenstein, nee Blumberg. Loving father of Nicholas Levenstein and Janna (Kieran) McKiernan. Proud grandfather of Ronan and Nyah McKiernan and Leon Levenstein. Born in Connecticut, attended Williams College on a full swimming scholarship, Yale Law School LL.B 1961, completed US Army Ranger School and served as a Ranger and US Army Sgt. Practice of Law brought him to Chicago with Sonnenschein Law Firm (now Dentons) becoming a Partner where he stayed 40 years working significantly in Real Estate and Corporate practice Groups. He was Chairman of the Committee on Securitizations and REITs of the American Bar Association. Interested in the business aspects of transactions, at age 65 he left the law firm to work 8 years as General Counsel for Salton Housewares where he rang the bell with George Foreman to take the company public at the NY Stock Exchange. He enjoyed training for triathlons and consistently placed at the top of his age group. He was an avid biker with the Plaza Riders for 25 years. With his wife and family he traveled worldwide often on hiking and biking adventure trips. He loved the Arts, especially Mozart Operas and good humor. Service Friday, September 8, 2023, 10 AM at Anshe Emet Synagogue, 3751 North Broadway Avenue, Chicago, IL 60613. Interment private.
