Funeral Details

Definitely a wonderful part of our past. Always amazed at how many beautiful girls he dated, pretty sure none were left. Always funny, charming and a great brother to all.

Myron, Mike, Brother (and I called him Mikey) Silverman was a true gentleman. His mother Betty raised him right. He had a great sense of humor but could also be very sarcastic. If you dated him it meant you were pretty and thin. Nothing else would do. I have way to many stories to share and some are not sharable. i was friends with him for close to 50 years. At the end i felt we were like an old married couple that fought and made up alot. We were always there for each other no matter what. He is in my heart forever and I will miss him every day. Gone but never forgotten. Love you Mikey!

Mike Silverman what is my upstairs neighbor for nearly twelve years, and despite my ongoing resistance, came to be one of my closest friends. He was a study in contrasts. An admirer, yet quite frequently an antagonist. Endearing, but more often than not, infuriating.

He called every day inviting me to dinners he would insist on paying for, yet never failed to complain about how much money he was spending.

To drive anywhere with him was to risk your life, as he studied all the store fronts on every street to see if anything new had cropped up that he missed, ignoring all the honking horns and expletives shouted at him from drivers whose lanes he'd ventured into ... but he was the best parallel parker I had ever seen.

He often imposed himself on my life, calling at any hour for help to reset his iPhone, or get the picture back on his TV, insisting that I drop everything and hurry to help. But whenever I was sick, or needed his help in anyway at all, I could count on him rushing to assist

I am very surprised to say that on some level I came to love this man who somehow worked his way into my heart. And I will miss him. Very much.

Mike, or Uncle Mike to me, was always the life of the party. I will miss seeing his face at East Bank and hearing stories of his latest adventures. I grew up with the stories of Mike and my dad and was lucky enough to see the two of them remain friends for 65 years. What more can you say about someone than staying friends with them for 65 years?

Today is a day that is different than all of the others I´ve spent with Mike. I´m not smiling and laughing. I´ll miss him dearly. Sandy, Merle and family you all have my condolences.

To know him was to love him…
There are so many memories but what I’ll remember most is the special relationship we had on all different levels… from sweeping me off my feet 22 years ago at a snow hawk meeting and up until now where we both knew friendship was our best solution! One thing was always for sure and that was I could count on Mike for anything! Helping me find my kids on Rush Street to driving them to crazy places in the city and making sure they always had enough passes to East Bank Club! With me, I knew I was in trouble when the first time I went to his condo and his wall unit was filled with tons of pictures of beautiful women. I asked if they were his relatives and he said NO, they were all his ex girlfriends!! While dating him there was always a situation and my friends couldn’t wait to hear all about our dates and especially all the vacations! I had just met Merle and Stan and we were supposed to go away to a wedding in Seattle and Merle said don’t go with him! When I asked why, she said because he will break up with you as he breaks up with everyone after they go away as he finds something he didn’t like about them! Well a surprise to all, that was the first of many beautiful trips and memories that I’ll cherish forever! If it were anyone else they might have said these vacations we took were a catastrophe but I called each one a wild and crazy adventure and some of the best times of my life!
Mike was blessed to have the most awesome and amazing family who treated me like family and who I truly love, wonderful friends who many became my dear friends and millions of acquaintances. People were drawn to his fun, energetic, charismatic and entertaining personality and I know he holds a special place in all the hearts of those who knew him! I will miss him terribly but will hold on to every one of those special memories!
