OBITUARY

Evelyn J. Hoffmann, nee Heins. Beloved wife of the late Howard M. Hoffmann. Loving mother of Michelle (Jay) Hoffmann-Jingst and Robert (Genevieve) Hoffmann. Proud and doting grandmother of Porter, Hayden, Asher and Brennan. Devoted daughter of the late Sidney and Irene Heins. Dear sister of Yvonne Heins and Sharon Laws.

Evelyn began her career as a Chicago Public School teacher. At the age of 36, with two small children and a husband with a busy law practice, Evelyn decided to go back to school for her law degree. Taking night classes and juggling a busy family life, she followed her dreams and became a lawyer. She then began her second career as an attorney, working for the State of Illinois advocating for people with disabilities. Her greatest joy, however, was her family, especially her four grandsons.

Services Sunday 11AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd., (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment New Light Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jewish United Fund, www.juf.org. Arrangements by Chicago Jewish Funerals - Skokie Chapel, 847.229.8822, www.cjfinfo.com

Stunned to hear of Evelyn's passing. It was just a few weeks ago we sat in the
library and talked for 3 hours.
We laughed a lot, she was fun and she was wise.
I will miss her and her sunny smile. My condolences to her loving family.

When Evelyn and I were members of Kol Ami, she and I had many lovely get-togethers - a lovely lady and a good friend.
