I am very sorry to hear Laurie has passed away. I remember when she was working at Spingman, she had an amazing memory of people's names. Whenever I see her in school, with different school meetings. I always say Hi to her. I am so surprised to learn this news. Again, I am very sorry to Laurie's family.

Every once in a while, a person comes along with a warmth, intelligence, and kindness, that transcends the qualities that most people possess. This is one of those times. Laurie, was one of the most magically warm, friendly, decent, witty, and genuinely nice people I’ve ever known. She will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of having her as a part of their life. I know I was truly blessed to have had the privilege of knowing my best friend’s sister, for all these many years. She was truly special, in every way. May the knowledge that she is now in that far better place, be the emotional balm that soothes this heartfelt loss.

May her memory will always be a blessing. She left too early. I will miss her very much. We had Many years of friendship. I always enjoyed her sense of humor, her strong and reasonable opinions on current events and the wonderful manner in which she presented herself to the world. A special person.

It is very hard in life not to look back at the should haves, could haves and wish we had more time togehther or done better.
Laurie was well loved by her Mahjongg girls, from Bar Crawls, to Milwaukee tournaments, to boat rides and her children's Showers and Weddings. We have a montage of pictures to remember the great times we had with Laurie.
You left us too soon, forever in our hearts.
Your Mom is not going to let you play Fau Mahjongg, so have fun in the big Mahjongg world in the sky!
Love ya,

I worked with Lori at Attea Middle School for many years. She was a good friend, trusted confidant and bundle of fun positive energy. There was an absence in the building when Lori retired, but we always looked forward to her occasional return trips to sub in the office. My sincere condolences to the entire family, as I know how much Lori loved all of you! God Bless during this difficult time.

I had the privilege of knowing Laurie for several years through my role in the leasing office of her residence. She was an individual of remarkable character, consistently exuding warmth and a radiant demeanor that positively impacted all she encountered. I deeply valued the opportunity to have known her and for the positive influence she had on my life. Laurie consistently made an effort to connect, often taking the time to visit the office and offer a friendly greeting. Our conversations were a source of mutual enjoyment, marked by updates on our days, I would enjoy sharing photos of my Halloween displays and she would always laugh when new Halloween decor would get delivered to the mailroom and she always knew it was mine, and we shared multiple moments of laughter. She will be profoundly missed, and I extend my sincerest condolences to her entire family during this difficult time.

I had the privilege of working with Laurie when she started in Glenview at Springman Middle School. She knew the students and staff and cared about everyone. When she moved to Attea I was always so happy to visit with her in the office. I have fond memories of her telling stories about her family and she was so proud of everyone. I was so saddened to hear of her death. May her memory be a blessing. Dina Shiner

I had the privilege of working with Laurie when I first started at Springman Middle School, and she welcomed me with such kindness and support. She was always willing to help in any way she could, and her warmth made such a difference. One of the things I will always remember about Laurie was her incredible ability to know everyone’s name—students, parents, staff—she made people feel seen and valued. I was truly shocked and deeply saddened to hear of her passing. Laurie was a special soul, and I will always cherish the time we shared. May she rest in peace.

Laurie Ford was among the "high" Flyers at Attea Middle School in Glenview. She was the first person I had the pleasure of meeting when I began substituting at the Glenview school more than three years ago. Laurie functioned as a mentor and advocate when I started working at Attea. She would text me on a 24/7 basis when teaching positions opened and took a personal interest in me. Learning of her passing just days before Thanksgiving, was stunning. I was truly fortunate to have known Laurie and will miss her very much. Listening to Rabbi Morris Zimbalist speak of Laurie in his heartfelt eulogy made me "teary-eyed" with sadness. It's true that every once in a while someone with Laurie's wonderful qualities comes into one's life. When it happens, we all should acknowledge these individuals and the relationships. The "Laurie Ford's" of the world must be treasured. My condolences to the Ford family and Laurie's siblings, David, Maxine and Steven during this very sad time. May Laurie's good name be inscribed in the book of life.
