OBITUARY

Donald Weiss, 81

Beloved husband and best friend of Barbara nee Rudofsky. Loving father of Steven (Lauren) Weiss, Mitchell (Heather) Weiss and the late Kimberly (the late Daniel) Hirsch. Cherished grandfather of Louden, Evie and Theo. Dear brother of the late Sandy (the late Lenny) Schulman and brother-in-law of Michele (Bruce) Herzfeld. Donnie left a beautiful legacy by simply prioritizing family time and making lasting memories together. We were filled with so many special moments ranging from regular family dinners to extravagant vacations that he took us on. Donnie’s family was his pride and joy and we will miss him terribly. Service Wednesday, 12 noon, at Makom Solel Lakeside, 1301 Clavey Rd., Highland Park. Interment Shalom Cemetery. To view the service online please visit our website. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Makom Solel Lakeside would be appreciated. Arrangements by Chicago Jewish Funerals - Skokie Chapel, 847.229.8822, www.cjfinfo.com

Barbara, Steven and Mitchell ... Today our hearts are heavy and our eyes are tearing. In this all too short lifetime for all of us, having had Don and all of you as dear dear friends and neighbors has been a blessing and a decades long joy. We can only hope that Don is peaceful and that the Universe carries him gently amongst the stars, and that maybe we all will have the good fortune and luck to find Donnie again to tell him that we do indeed love him and that we have missed him. And so Don, and all of you, rest easy because our friend Don did good ... everywhere ... as a Husband, a Father, a Grandfather, a Friend, and most especially as a wonderful human being. We will miss you Donnie because we will think of you often. Travel Safe Don ... and may you have the softest of landings.

I am saddened by Don’s passing. Despite his health issues he always brought a smile to our Monday canasta games. I will miss the side conversations.

We are so sorry for your loss. We enjoyed spending time with Don and Barb in Arizona and getting to know you both. We are in Arizona now and we watched Don’s service and found it to be very touching. He was very loved and respected. Our hearts go out to Barb and your family. We hope that your loving memories of Don bring you much comfort at this sad time.
