A memory of your spunky and fiesty mom comes to mind at her grandson Jason and Cindy’s wedding on a beautiful Yacht in California… she needed to go up the stairs and I happened to be right there , so I took the initiative to stop the people around and let her slowly make her way up, but I was also behind her with my hands on her waist, she turned back to me and said, as I greatly appreciate your thoughtfulness and helping me, I still got this! And was very persistent on doing it by herself!… I smiled and said you inspire me!… I feel honored that I have had several opportunities to share time with Lorie, Sindee being my best friend, my Soul Sister …with so much love , Paul and I send our deepest condolences, and prayers to you all! May she rest in peace, and back in the arms of her beloved husband, george…

Lorie and I worked together for many years at Niles North…we had our small group of ladies who we’d chat with every morning before the school day began! We shared our stories of family, whether it was our kids or grandkids! Everyone knew what was happening in each other’s lives! Lunch and dinners together from time to time were always good for a few laughs!
Lorie will be missed. She was one of a kind! May she rest in peace.

I've known Lorrie my whole life. 85 years. My lifelong friend. Although we didn't live close we talked alot and I visited her when I went to Chicsgo and we visited in California when she came here. I can't believe she is gone and I will miss her so much. 😢

I have fond memories of your mom. She always seemed happy to talk with me on the phone and when she would come to visit. She took a genuine interest in what was going on in my life. I’ll never forget the Chanukah party—when she offered to make lattes and nearly set the kitchen on fire! She was always there with a warm heart and a helping hand, and she will be dearly missed.

I, too, have fond memories of Lorie at Niles North. I went back to teaching rather late in life and I recall that Lorie was very kind to me and accepted me warmly as a new member of the faculty. May I offer my sincerest condolences to her family.

I am saddened by the passing of Lorie. I had the pleasure of working with her, and being her friend over the years. She was always supportive of me, and my family, especially duringvmy wifes cancer diagnosis.

No one listened, and provided compassion that Lorie. She reslly gleamed when talking about her grandson, and how wonderful he is.
Due to my moms passing this week, I will be unable to attend services, but I am sending love, and positive thoughts to the family.

Heaven gained two wonderful angels this week. ❤️

This is tough. As a "Nordica Mom" Lorie was always generous and warm. We had a great gang....Sindee, Linda and I were glue. Always causing good trouble. Between My Mom, Shirley Kaufman and Lorie, well, let's just say....we gave them Good Trouble. Even in Girl Scouts. But we were given so much more. life and a ton of Love. And the credit card on occasion.

Rest Easy Lorie, say hullo to George, the Kaufman's and my folks.

It is difficult to live far from family and in this instance I wish I could be there to share stories and impressions of my ‘cool’ older cousin who provided a model of what would come next in life. Loretta, always took the time to ask questions and be open and direct about her opinions and experiences. I am profoundly sorry that she is gone. May her memory be a blessing to Sindee, Marcy , their loved ones and to us all.
