OBITUARY

Robert Barry Eisenberg, 89

Beloved husband for 41 years of Linda Sorkin-Eisenberg. Loving father of Laura (the late Keith) Jachim, David (Kelly) Eisenberg, Mitchell Eisenberg, Jon (Karla) Sorkin, Josh (Raquel) Sorkin, and Elana Sorkin. Proud grandfather of Greyson and Reid Eisenberg, Leyla and Cece Eisenberg, Jessica and Jakob Sorkin and Jae Sorkin. Original owner of Bliss Beauty Salon located in the North Shore of Chicago.

Robert Barry Eisenberg 1/19/1937 - 9/16/2026
We thank the Creator for the life of Robert Barry Eisenberg, born to Miriam and William Eisenberg on January 19, 1937. Fondly called Bobby in his younger years and later known as Bob. He was born and raised on the West Side of Chicago. As a child, he was playful and mischievous, spending time running around the city streets being a prankster with his close buddies . His Orthodox grandparents and extended family helped to raise him, while also planting seeds that would influence his lifelong spiritual seeking.

From an early age, Bob possessed an innate creative spirit. During his elementary school years, he found joy in drawing, doodling, and sketching, using his imagination as both an outlet and a way to stay engaged. That creativity remained a defining part of his life. Driven by ambition and a desire to succeed, Bob attended beauty school and became a hairstylist. He later became an accomplished businessman and the original owner of Bliss Salon and Day Spa on the Chicago northshore.

Throughout his life, Bob served in many roles: son, husband, father, (Saba) grandpa, businessman, hairdresser, teacher, mentor, and friend. He was kind and generous, always willing to give others an opportunity to grow while bringing laughter and lightness wherever he went. Bob became a TMmeditator* and a deeply spiritual man who lived with gratitude and joy. Bob presence touched the lives of many. Today, we remember Bob who was always thankful for the life he lived, the stories he told, the laughter he shared, the artistry he created, and the love and wisdom he leaves behind.

He was my brother-in-law and loved by my late husband, Marc and my current boyfriend Mike Rubin, a wonderful, loving, funny man and always ended his speeches at the holidays with L’chaim L’chaim, L’ Chaim. He will be missed by all.

Bobby and I attended the same elementary school. It was Riis school near Little Italy. Bobby was the cutest boy at school and all the girls loved him. He was a DUDE from the get-go!! He remained a part of my life for decades and my hairdresser for many years. I m sure he’s in Hashem arms now and sharing his stories with him💝👏👏👏

I was fortunate to have Bob and his wife Linda as my loyal art students for many years. Bob was most special, an amazing fine artist. Most don't know his first love was drawing and painting. He graduated from The American Academy of Art 70 years ago. Each week he would choose a book from my library to find inspiration. Usually it was photo references of his grandchildren on his iPhone. (I hope they know how much he loved them)... Sometimes he was looking for a complicated assignment to push himself. I have an 8 x 10' reproduction of Leonardo's Mona Lisa. Only Bob could replicate the image with pencil. Not even Leonardo could do this..., seriously. He also held the practice of daily meditating TM close to his heart for over his lifetime and shared the important ideas of world peace hope with his daughter Savita, and actually took her to Fairfield Iowa for life ideas,
mysterious gifts if we look.
Thank you Bob for my love of you and your love of me and sharing your life with me via Linda! my best artist friend!!!
