OBITUARY

Davida (nee Rudy) Levy, age 79

Beloved mom of Susie (Scott) Richter and proud Mimi of Ross, Alec, and Mallory. Sister of Richard (Debbie) Rudy. Loving daughter of the late Henry and Bernice Rudy. Grateful companion to Florence Espiritu and Maria Werner.

Davida was a loving and generous mother, grandmother, and friend.
She was well traveled, well informed, and had the best vocabulary in the room. She loved nothing more than a Portillo’s hot dog and fries. Her car could only be a two door as four doors were for “old people.” She loved plants and had a wonderful green thumb. Her grandchildren always looked into a crowd to find their Mimi at a game or a performance. Davida earned her Masters degree in English Literature from Roosevelt University.

Service Monday 12:30 PM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment Private. Davida will always be in my heart. We had a lot of good laughs and I will cherish them She was one of the smartest people I have known. Her sense of humor is so like mine that’s why we shared so many moments of fun and laughter. Your kindness touch my heart, my daughter and my son. Rest in Peace.

How do you know your heart is broken until the phone rings and deep in your soul you know the person who made your life so much better was in a better place. So much joy, love and shopping looking for the right things for the beach house like the mannequin that we found and you could change her earring and the scarf for her hair. So many memories sitting in the car eating our favorite lunch at Portillo’s, plant shopping at Gesemanae
(spelling), and could go on forever. Take a Bow Davida as you made and gave so much to all of us and we will never forget! Bob and I wish you comfort and peace, our dear friend Davida.

With extreme sadness I send my love to you Susie and your family.
I adored your mom. We had the happiest of times together, taking classes, going on trips, many lovely dinners, and we were there for each other in times of need. You posted a beautiful photo of her. Some very fun memories in Michigan City as well.
I wish you strength, courage, and I know there will be grief as well.
She was such an intelligent and warm human being. May her memory be a blessing..

Davida was so easy to get along with! We laugh a lot, watch Tv together and enjoy each other’s company. Portillo’s was always a favorite! Always talks about her family and is so proud of them .
I will miss her wisdom and her undeniable presence.
Farewell, my friend. You will never be forgotten. Now you may Rest in Peace…

So sad , She will be so missed, we have been neighbors for many years. Even before she moved into 990, I remember double dating when we were in our prime. Great personality and so interesting. Loved her company.
