OBITUARY

Maya Friedler (1928-2024) passed away peacefully at home on September 16. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, David Friedler (2001) and is survived by her son, Eric (Ellen), daughter, Mindy (Mark Bires), her grandchildren, Jenny, Annie (Kevin) Fishbain, Emmy, Molly, Sean and Cassidy, her greatgrandchildren, Nathan, Bennett, Josephine and Dovi, her sister, Adele (the late Seymour) Neems, and her brother, Gerald (Geraldine) Sherman. She was an ardent feminist and advocate for peace throughout her life. She lived with style, passion and grace. Service Wednesday 1PM at Am Shalom, 840 Vernon Avenue, Glencoe, IL. Maya was a force of nature. When she started the Evanston Peace Center my parents sent over our living room couch. She was worth sitting on the floor for! My love to the Friedler and Neems families, lifelong friends in the quest for justice.
