Dear Michele, Robin & Adam,
I am very sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. I enjoyed answering my mothers phone and hearing Lucilleâ??s voice because she always talked to me with respect and real interest in what I was doing at the time. There were many afternoons, my mother Gittie and I would visit her at Crawfordâ??s Department Store on Devon Ave and I would pretend that I was shopping in her department so we could spend time with her.
And of course there was my Uncle Phil.
Whenever I saw a Chicago Police car, I would run up to it, to see and get a hug from my Uncle Phil. Although there was one time, I ran up to a police car and Uncle Phil was not the officer inside.
As soon as I explained to the officer that I was looking for Philip Tolan, I was free to go.
And when Valerie and I look at my parents wedding album, you can hear joy in my mothers voice when she tells us friends and family members gave congratulation wishes to Phil because he looked more like my father then his brother did. On the day Phil died, my father said: â??Today, I lost my brotherâ?.
Every night when I send up prayers for my father and grandparents I will include Lucille for her spirit to rise higher and higher. Amen

My prayers and thoughts are with everyone. I am extremely saddened by the passing of this "Great Lady". She was not only my best and favorite Aunt, she was my friend, since I met her and knew her long before she became my aunt. There are so many different words that I can use to describe her and they would all fit her personality. She was classy, easy to talk to, fun to be with, extremely In love with her dear husband, Phil (Fivey as some new him) and she was a loving, wonderful mother to her 3 children. I am also sorry that I could not be there for her funeral, but she knows that my thoughts are always and were always with her. I shall miss her very much. My love to the family.
