OBITUARY

Marvin I. Weintraub, age 87. Beloved husband of M. Karen Weintraub, nee Skunda for 40 years. Loving father of Dr. Scott, Mark and Larry Weintraub and Paul (Lisa) Chuma and Deborah (Todd) Applegate. Cherished grandfather of Ryan (Mackenzie), Collin (Ayden) and Declan Weintraub, Katherine, Elizabeth and Nicholas Chuma, Eric (Samantha) and Austin (fiancé Sarah) Applegate. Proud great-grandfather of four and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Caring son of the late Harry and Belle Weintraub and dear brother of the late Alan (Naomi) Weintraub.
Service Thursday 10:30 AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Road (One block north of Lake Cook Road) Buffalo Grove. Interment Windridge Cemetery, Cary, IL.

I have only known Marv and Karen for 14 months since my wife Sandy joined the Encore family. I knew very quickly what a kind and caring person they both were. It has been an honor and a privilege to have meet both of them and my prayers are for a joyful transition based on a Life well lived.

Marvin Weintraub was a Prince of a man in all aspects of life. He was kind, thoughtful, intelligent, introspective, generous, loving, and oh so very much fun to be with.
He loved the vastness of Montana in a awesome wonderment that so contrasted with his life in the Chicago metropolitan area.
He and Karen fit together so beautifully it was a joy to be with them both.

I never had the pleasure of meeting Marv personally but I feel like I know him through his devoted wife, Karen. Very recently I enjoyed sharing stories with Karen about our spouses and lives together. What a blessing to marry someone you like, respect and love! Karen had that with Marv as I do with Fred! We are blessed! May God bless all their family and friends! And may their love and memories endure forever!!

For many years we have known Marv as a very generous and kind person with the nicest sense of grace and tact toward family, friends and all whom he encountered.
Brilliant and witty yet considerate, Marv challenged us to be our best in thought, speech and action.

A Gentle Giant

Marv cared about all of humanity and was especially kind and generous to his friends. Even as he rose to the top of his chosen profession, he nevertheless remained humble. We shared with Marv and Karen our love of classical music. Marv was Bob's golfing buddy. He, loved to tell stories, like one when a waitress refused to serve him apple pie with chocolate ice cream. One of our fondest memories was when is we were visiting Karen and Marv with our 3 toddler grandchildren. Marv rented a Santa suit and suddenly appeared to the sheer delight of the grandkids. Karen bought and wrapped gifts which he distributed to them.

We shall always cherish the memories of our friendship with Marv.

Karen and Family,
Norb and I are sending our deepest sympathies from a distance. We reflected on the nice times we had over the years; of course, there are never enough of those.
One day, when the pain from that hole in your chest subsides, you will start to chuckle as some of the silly times, words, or jokes come to mind or come up in conversations. Karen, we wish you peace and serenity. May all the family join in that peace. Blessed be the repose of the soul of Marvin Weintraub.
