OBITUARY

Nathan B. Winter, age 94, superb teacher without peer, died June 10th peacefully at home. His students often said that "Every day in his class was an adventure!" He taught at Roosevelt School in Elmhurst and in Rockford at the Hallstrom, Hillman, and Nelson schools. Columnist for the Midwest Observer, many letters published in Rockford Register, Chicago Tribune, Chicago Sun Times, and the New York Times. Beloved husband for 72 years of Bernadette G. Winter nee Peskind. Beloved father of Cantor Cory (Franz Soehngen) Winter and Lee (Rebecca) Winter. Proud grandfather of William and Sarah. Dear brother of the late Harold (the late Lucille) Winter, the late Dorothy Winter, the late Leah (the late Neil) Baskin, the late Harriet (the late Phillip) Denenberg and the late Miriam (the late Ben) Barsk. Service Wednesday 2PM at Congregation B'nai Jehoshua Beth Elohim, 1201 Lake Cook Road, Deerfield, IL 60015. Interment Shalom. In lieu of flowers, donations to Cong.
