Isabel Marie Soffer, 87, beloved wife to Dr. Alfred Soffer, for 67 years. Beloved mother to Jonathan (Margaret) Soffer, Joshua, and Gil (Becky) Soffer. Loving grandmother to Talia, Jacob, Gabriela, and Mia Soffer. Devoted daughter to the late Philip and Emma Weintraub, and loving sister to Judy Wasserman. Isabel was an English teacher at Solomon Schechter Day School for many years, where she inspired generations of students. She was also a beloved teacher at the Chicago Academy for the Arts, and an acclaimed leader of book and poetry reading groups across the Chicago North Shore. Her family, friends, former colleagues, and students loved her dearly. Service Friday 12 PM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment Westlawn Cemetery.
