My dear mentor, colleague, and friendâ?¦
I am luckier than most have witnessed firsthand the wide range of your talent, scholarly interests, and your unselfish contributions to others. Our family is eternally grateful for those many things you and your family shared with us.
I will continue to describe to others the amazing range of your life. You and I heard much music together, and played music together. I count the hundreds of hours in surgery spent together as among the best times of my life. You freely gave everything you had to give. Your unceasing quest for knowledge of every kind was truly exceptional.
I understand how much you delighted in the challenge of a full, learned life.
What a life you showed all of us!
We are blessed.

Robert K. Erickson, MD

It is with extreme sadness that I learn of the passing of Dr Leonard Kranzler. His colossal intellect, wisdom, and trusted mentorship will be sorely missed. His tireless efforts in neurosurgical education, a field that it was my pleasure to share with him, has had national and global impact. His care of the sick, defense of the righteous, and enlightenment of the curious, all with a calm, kind demeanor, will forever be in the memories of all that had the pleasure of knowing him. There will never be another like Leonard Kranzler.
