OBITUARY
In Loving Memory of Michael R. Sices
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael R. Sices, age 56, who died unexpectedly on Friday, December 12, 2025.
Michael was a loving father to Jonah, Aidan, and Emily Sices. He was the beloved son of David and Marsha Sices, a dear brother to Edward (Meredith) Sices and Jenna Sices, and a cherished uncle to Isabel and Talia Sices as well as the former husband of Cori Sices.
An entrepreneur throughout his life, Michael spent much of his career building and running his own law firm, where he helped individuals and businesses navigate consumer and commercial litigation, as well as bankruptcy law. He took pride in advocating for his clients and guiding them through some of their most challenging moments, bringing both intellect and dedication to his work.
Michael lived life with remarkable curiosity, intensity, and heart. He was endlessly interested in the world around him—diving headfirst into new passions, ideas, and adventures, and approaching each one with enthusiasm and sincerity. Those who knew him well knew his sharp mind, his artistic and creative spirit, his willingness to go down the deepest of rabbit holes, and his genuine excitement for learning something new.
He spent the last several years living in Colombia, a place that reflected his love of travel, exploration, and reinvention. Michael embraced life fully and on his own terms. He leaves behind a legacy of curiosity, courage, and love for and devotion to his children, whom he adored.
He was loved and admired by friends and family around the world and will be profoundly missed.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 6, 11AM at Temple Beit Shalom, 10001 Columbia Avenue, Munster, Indiana 46321 after a private interment.
