OBITUARY

Ronald Howard Schimmel, known as Ronnie, Mr. Versace and Ronaldo, to his many friends. Ronnie leaves behind his loving wife Cheryl Schimmel nee Warren. Schimmel sons, Cary and Mark Schimmel. Ronnie was raised in Chicago by Helen and David Schimmel. He attended Roosevelt University. Ronnie was a self-made man, an amazing storyteller, devoted husband and friend and always remembered wherever he went. While he came from poor beginnings, his stories from growing up and his experiences during school were legendary. As a young man, Ronnie traveled the world on the first 747 airplanes as a buyer for a Chicago department store. When Ronnie went into the Ad Specialty industry, he developed many unique, successful products. He invented a sonically welded keychain, manufactured millions, and to this day his license plate is KEYTAG. Ronnie, along with his wife, dear friends and outstanding medical support, fought a courageous 2-year battle with leukemia.
