As I sit here thinking about what I want to say,
a quote by Mark Twain comes to mind, “Life is short, break the rules, forgive quickly, kiss slowly, love truly, laugh uncontrollably, and never regret anything that made you smile. This “reminds me of my Uncle Danny. You will always be my favorite Uncle. 💜

Dear Lana, Jill and Carey—

Our hearts and the hearts of our parents (Martin & JoAnn Jacobson) are broken for you at this tremendous loss of such an incredible husband, father and friend. I hold many happy memories of our family’s spending time together as we grew up. And I especially treasure the memory of my parents and Danny and Lana happily sharing babysitting duty together with the births of their first grandchildren! Please know we treasure the time we had together. Sending hugs and strength. Beth Jacobson Olderman and Neil Olderman and Marty (another proud Vest Sider!) Jacobson

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this time. Though Sari is representing our family, I wanted to share a few personal words.

I always appreciated how welcoming and hospitable Danny was — he truly made us feel at home whenever we visited. I especially enjoyed our conversations about tennis, Pickleball, and the markets. His passion, curiosity, and stewardship were qualities I deeply admired.

As the service will be held at Beth Shalom — the House of Peace — I’m praying that you would feel the presence and comfort of God’s peace in a very real way.

I was reminded of the words of the Shema, a prayer that connects generations of faith:

“Shema Yisrael, Adonai Eloheinu, Adonai Echad.”
“Hear, O Israel: the Lord is our God, the Lord is One.” (Deuteronomy 6:4)

May the One who is our peace surround you with strength and comfort.

Grace and Peace, Brently
