OBITUARY

Richard Lee Fenton, 67

Beloved husband of Judy nee Alsofrom. Loving father of Leslie Fenton, Jessica (Jeremy Kahn) Fenton and Jonathan (Regina) Fenton. Dear brother of Larry (Gayle) Fenton and brother-in-law of Daniel (Julie) Alsofrom and Sarah Alsofrom. He loved his entire extended family and family by choice. He was a prominent attorney, a partner at Dentons LLC for his entire career. He graduated from the University of Chicago Undergraduate and Law School Degrees. He was a member of the national board of the Anti-Defamation League. He was the first board president of District 112, Highland Park. He loved music, travel and everything life had to offer. To keep everyone safe and healthy, the synagogue service and interment are private. It's been decades since I saw Rick. I knew him in high school. We have friends in common and I was saddened to hear the news. My sympathies to Rick's family.

I have known Ricky (always Ricky to me!) since 4th grade and had the privilege of alphabetically sitting behind him in 4th grade and all the way through high school. We were even locker partners at Sullivan. We kept our friendship alive after high school with yearly lunches and communications. He was always willing to listen to me and offer advice. I'm thankful for the Zoom meeting he set up just a couple weeks ago in order for us to reconnect with former classmates. He was one of the kindest people I have ever known and his passing impacts so many people. To his wife Judy and the entire family, I offer heartfelt condolences. May Ricky's memory always be for a blessing.

Dear Judy, Leslie, Jessica and Jonathan -- I am so deeply, deeply sorry for your loss of Rick.
I worked with him at Dentons (fka Sonnenschein) since 2009 and we worked on some bears of cases but what stands out in my memory was how much we laughed. I feel truly blessed to have had him as friend. He was simply one of the finest human beings I have ever known and I am so grateful I knew him. I wish you comfort in his memory. Dear, Judy, Leslie, Jessica and Jonathan- I am deeply saddened for your loss. I have recently worked with Rick as a client. He truly helped me and our company through a very difficult time, and was often the voice of calmness through the entire ordeal.
