I have fond memories of Stan and Sandy as Northbrook residents and BJBE members. I worked in real estate and would often solicit Stan’s assistance due to his knowledge and expertise. He will be missed.

Stan was first my mentor as a legal associate and then my partner for 17 years. He taught me about construction law and opened doors for me to succeed as a construction attorney. I was fortunate to spend time with Stan and his family at his home for Passover dinners and at his sons’ schools for plays. Even when we parted ways, Stan and I remained friends and he was an inspiration to me to become involved in mediation and arbitration. He was one of the founders of the Society Of Illinois Construction Attorneys and will be sorely missed. God speed Stan.

I cut Stan’s hair along with Danny and Steve the first Shiva I ever attended was when Stan’s Mother passed . As a Cristian I didn’t know the sun down rule so I arrived early , and was welcomed in and had a meal with the family before the Shiva . Another story Stan was called the Dean of Real Estate Lawyers , what People didn’t know He would joke among Us that He Practiced Linen Law , I ordered white towels and received yellow . The company wouldn’t exchange them , after a letter from Stan My white towels arrived . Stan was a true Mendsch I loved Him !

I was the college roommate of Stan’s youngest son, Dan - a dear friend still today. And I grew up just over an hour north of the Sklar’s in southern WI. I have many fond memories of conversations over meals shared during holiday breaks, whether out at Lou Malnati’s or sitting around the Sklar’s dining room table. Stan and Sandy always welcomed me into their home like they were my second parents. I cherish these memories and will always be grateful for the love and generosity shown to me. My heart goes out to the Sklar family as they grieve and honor the memory of a great father, grandfather, and friend.

Sending love from CA..
