OBITUARY

Nathan Julian Levy passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2023, at the age of 94. He is survived by beloved wife of 51 years Diane Levy nee Sotsky; devoted children Melissa Levy (Jeffrey Shelman) and Michael Levy (Sonia Settler); and adored grandchildren Jordan and Miriam Levy. Nate also is cherished and survived by sister-in-law Judith Levy, as well as nephews and nieces Leonard Marcus, Sharon Lerman, Daniel Levy, Aviva Faust, David Levine, Michael Levine, Andrew Levine, Lesley Goldberg and Stacey Torres. Nate emigrated from Poland to Milwaukee in the late 1930s with parents Israel and Miriam, brother Bernard and sister Marlene. Nate was steadfastly committed to his family, faith and (despite moving to Chicago more than a half-century ago to marry Diane) the Green Bay Packers. Services Sunday, 12:30 p.m. at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd. (at Niles Center Road) Skokie, IL 60077. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Norridge. Nate was a lovely man and very intelligent person. We worked together welcoming new residents to Gidwitz Place and he was alway eager and willing to help.

I admired his marriage to Diane and his loving devotion to her. He was very interesting to talk to and I will miss him. May he rest in peace
