We encourage you to share your personal condolences and stories of Beth S. Kon below and we will share them with the family.
*Email and phone numbers will NOT be displayed online

Oh, Mrs. Kon....
You are present in some of my earliest memories: Girl Scouts and field trips. Your love for animals and your sense of humor were eclipsed only by your kindness to all living things. The world has dimmed a bit from its loss of you. You will be missed.

Beth always lit up the room. She was entertaining and full of good stories. Although she is now gone, her essence (values and joie de vivre) live in her children, grandkids, and the next generation. My heartfelt condolences go out to the family - may your good memories of times together and the loving support of family help you move forward. Beth will be missed.
Sending virtual hugs and love to all…

My grandmother, Beth,, was a very talented pianist. During my childhood, I took piano, and, the inspiration to play that instrument was from her. The way she played the piano was so beautiful and I am so thankful that I am able to have a video of her playing the piano to look at when I need to feel close to her.

My most heartfelt condolences to the Kon family during this difficult time. Beth was a rare combination of intelligence and kindness that is hard to find, especially in this day and age. She headed our searchers group at Congregation BJBE and always made those meetings interesting and personable by asking the participants what was happening in their world. As a fellow animal lover, I always enjoyed her anecdotes about her pets, especially her German Shepherd Bear whom she referred to as her burglar alarm. Zichronam L'vrachah! May Beth's memory be a blessing!

Dear Jeffrie, Peter, Wendy, Heidi, and Diana and all of your families. I am truly sorry to hear the news about your mom. Growing up, I always had 4 extra big sisters , a big brother and 2 sets of parents, Len and Elana, and Beth and Frank. Any time I needed to feel safe and understood Beth would put me in her "magic circle"and everything would be all better. So, I am returning the "magic circle" back to all of you at this time of need. I have to believe that Frank and Len are making potato latkes and Elana and Beth are teaching together again. With all my love, your little brother. Mitchell

My deep and heartfelt sympathies to dear Beth's family and wide circle of friends. I met Beth 5-6 years ago through UMichigan's OLLI program. I remember the first time I met her - her wonderful laugh, kind demeanor and deep intelligence. I treasure knowing Beth and I were friends and colleagues. She deeply, deeply loved her family and was so proud of you all. I loved her stories. Beth was a force of humanity and goodness. I will miss her. Peace.

Beth was a valued member of our Ethics Shared Interest Group at the University of Michigan Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. She was always there with a story, a smile and warm wit as well as being directly on point with her comments. While I did not know her that well, I treasure the interactions we had with her., She will truly be missed. A wonderful person.

We will miss Beth in our Book Club! She gave scholarly reviews every year that we all looked forward to greatly. She was a caring person who always sent words of appreciation and love through texts and emails. I enjoyed having deep discussions with her about education, history, and life. Heaven has gained a joyous Angel!

Thank you for your lifelong friendship to our family, and especially to our mom, Joan Gross, who deeply valued your wisdom and concern. We watched the ZOOM service, and were very touched by so many deep memories of Beth and Frank. I will never forget your parents' kindness to me and my sister, during difficult times in our family, and, for being a helpful and forgiving piano teacher!

My dear Kon family, I’m sorry that we have all lost Beth, and so grateful I was able to see her in October, when she was in fine form, vivacious as ever! She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness and faith. My Hanson family all treasure Beth’s memory, and I think of her every time I hit Middle C on the piano. With love, Joycie
