OBITUARY

Daniel S. Weinstein

Beloved husband of Rachel, nee Heiligman. Loving father of Ari and Joshua. Adored son of Gail Gordon and Sheldon Weinstein. Cherished brother of Mindy Weinstein, the late Jonathan Weinstein. Daniel earned his masters of education from DePaul University and was a middle school math teacher for Chicago Public Schools for over two decades. He was beloved by his students and faculty for not only his gifted teaching skills but for his warmth, genuineness and tremendous sense of humor. He was a devoted father and a caring, loving husband, son, brother and friend to many. He also had a passion for sports and enjoyed playing competitive tennis, running and swimming. He was full of life and taken way too soon. He will be forever missed. Service Thursday 12 PM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd. (at Niles Center Road) Skokie. Interment Memorial Park, Skokie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Camp Ramah in Wisconsin for camper scholarships, ramahwisconsin.com/donate. Here I sit in NY overwhelmed with memories and deep pain over Daniel’s death. Reading about him resonated so profoundly . I am sorry I cannot be there Thursday . He was always exceptional and Mindy your bat Mitzvah and prep will always be in my heart.
I pray you will be surrounded by much love and support at this excruciating time . I am sending support and understanding and deep caring though decades have passed !

Mr. Dan Weinstein was a gifted Middle School Teacher who also mastered the art of teaching Math to our school population. He had a kind spirit. He was also a great instructor and colleague. Mr. Weinstein will truly be missed.
