I am very sorry for your loss. I knew Marshall only through Safeway, but he was always one of the most friendly and genuine people I've ever met. So many people don't take the time to say hello, or you can tell they are not really interested in your response. Not Marshall. I could tell when we greeted one another he was interested & truly cared how my day was going. It was clear his smile was there because he was a happy, genuine person. I remember when my youngest son Zackery was born, Marshall told me, "Bruce, whatever you do, always make sure you take the time to throw a ball to your son". I don't know why, but that simple kind statement from him has always stuck with me. Even now as my son Zackery is going into 2nd grade, every time we play catch, I think of Marshall. I feel blessed to have known him, even for the short time here at work. My condolences. Marshall and all of you in his family are in my thoughts and prayers.

My heart goes out to his family and everyone who's life he touched. I feel like every time I saw him at a gathering at Stanley's house, he was the person I talked to most. He was a kind soul with interesting stories. He even sounded like he'd come see my band play if we got close to Chicago more than once in a blue moon.
