OBITUARY

Elissa “Liz” Bakall nee Greenfield, age 88, of Lincolnwood, formerly of Chicago, IL passed away peacefully on January 4, 2025, leaving a legacy of love, resilience and cherished memories. Beloved wife of 55 years of the late Norman Bakall; loving mother of Brad (Sophie) Bakall and Karen (Michael) Barondes. Proud grandmother of Samantha and Matthew Bakall, Daniel, Jacob and Nathan Barondes. Dear sister of the late Michele (the late Richard) Malcolm and dear aunt of Jeanne Malcolm and Rick (Anne) Malcolm. Elissa was a retired educator/evaluator for the Chicago Board of Education. She enjoyed travel, visiting family and friends, attending theater, and spending time with her dear children and grandchildren. Service Friday, January 10th, 1:00pm, 195 N. Buffalo Grove Road (One block north of Lake Cook Road), Buffalo Grove. Private family interment at the Racine Jewish Memorial Cemetery in Racine, WI. Hi Karen: I am Miriam Schaul. I worked at Bertie Correctional for several years. I met with the sisterhood several times and came to the synagogue at times as well. I remember you and I hope you remember me.

What a beautiful person your mother was - raven hair and shiny smile.
