Esther was a beloved cousin. Like her mother Elkie, she showed us how to appreciate the goodness of life in spite of the hardships, and to find happiness in the company of family and friends.

Esther was a very special woman. She and I were roommates in high school and stayed friends ! She was one of the most upbeat and positive people I ever met,despite a life of

I had the privilege of getting to know Esther this past year. Although I only interacted with her a couple of times, her kindness and warmth toward everyone penetrated my heart and all of those she interacted with. I remember when I went to visit her in the hospital in May of 2023, all around her room were sefarim and the light-bulb candles to give the atmosphere of a Jewish place on Shabbos even in her situation. On the whiteboard the nurses made sure to write that she is a Torah observant Jew and will not use electricity until after shabbos. Her happiness and love of Judaism was potent to all those around her, and I am so grateful to have been able to learn from her. May her neshama go to the highest levels of gan eden.

Esther was my friend since we were children. She, Avi, and I rode our bikes all over town. I spent a lot of time with her family in Rochester growing up. ( though I probably should not have said I liked the old kitchen better) but it was where I spent so much time as a child.
She is one of my oldest friends and I will always miss her warmth,,,her humor, and her caring nature. I was able to visit her in Chicago several times. And we kept in touch. By phone, email, what's up. Her hearing issues made it hard to speak on the phone the last few years, but in my mind I still hear her voice.
She has and will always be in my heart.
