On behalf of my family we wish to extend our sympathy to Lois and your family. I personally had the good fortune of having Errol in my business life for a number of years and our company prospered under his always sound advise, personal involvement and caring.
As our fathers were brothers it would have seemed that when we were younger we would have been closer but as our fathers had their own personal family issues and disagreements Errol's and my relationship as kids were distant. For some reason I had much more interactions with his mother Dorothy as she was close and friendly with my mother Anne and Dorothy from what I remember was very proud of Errol and his accomplishments.
Later in my business career when Errol was an E&Y partner I was fortunate to re-connect with him and soon realized what I had missed by not reaching out earlier in our lives.
Errol was just the best in every way, professionally and the best as a caring and soulful cousin and friend.
Again, our deepest sympathy to your Golub family from our Golub family.
Gene.

I took Errol for Corporate Reorganizations in the DePaul MST Program back in 1976. You could see in the first few minutes of class that he was one really smart guy. I've taken a lot of courses both before and since, and that was one of the most intellectually challenging courses I have ever taken. I went on to have a career teaching tax at DePaul and I got to know a lot of tax people. I think they would all agree that he was one of the greats.
He really did set a high standard. I've heard any number of MST alums over the years since, who have said that you don't really have a DePaul MST unless you made it through Golub for Reorgs. So that respect from all of those former students will always be part of his legacy.
My thoughts are with your family at this very sad time.

Errol and I were fraternity brothers in Indiana University, and I had the pleasure of meeting Lois several times. I believe Errol was a year ahead of me.

I was on business in Atlanta, at the Hyatt Hotel perhaps thirty years after school, and a man on the elevator turned to me and announced “Mike Katz.” I looked at him with surprise and an unknowing stare. He asked, don't you remember me? I had no clue at first but once he lifted off his toupee, I knew he was very familiar.

We both had a laugh, But had appointments to keep. So we caught up for a few minutes, and said goodbye. Altho I have lived in Chicago since 1966 our paths never crossed again.

May you Lois, and your family always think of the good memories he left you with and may he rest in peace.

Dear Lois and family:
Iris and I were deeply saddened to hear the news of Errol’s passing and extend our condolences to you all. Errol
was an amazing business partner, colleague, teacher, mentor and friend whose impact on our firm , our clients and me personally was profound and enduring. I will
never forget how proud I felt when he complemented me for finding a case that was complex and nuanced to provide the precedent needed for a particular structure he had proposed- My smile lasted for weeks! Iris and I loved spending time with you both at various functions and enjoyed our special bond. May Errol’s memory be for a blessing.

He was the best instructor in the Masters in Taxation program at DePaul University. He had an incredible memory.
Probably photographic. He also had a great sense of humor.
I am forever grateful to to him, and his partners at Arthur Young, who took time away from their practices and families
to teach at DePaul. I received my M.S.T. In 1975.
