Marlene and I lived two blocks away from each other, and I spent many many hours at her home with her brothers and her parents. We knew each other since the fifth grade and have stayed friends for many many years. I was sorry to hear about her passing. We had many slumber parties, and fun times at Miami Beach Hi School, sometimes I’ve run away from home and go to her house. Marlene was always a fun, loving, gentle soul she will be missed greatly.

Perhaps none of you remember or know me. I was married to Bob Tuckman, and I am Michael's mother. I remember first meeting Marlene when she came to Illinois to go to school. She had never seen snow before and delighted in touching it and rolling in it. I have not seen her in many years, but I remember her sheer enjoyment in touching and experiencing snow for the first time. She went on to bring joy in the lives of her family and all those who had the privilege of meeting her and experiencing the extraordinary person she was.

Please accept my deepest condolences. I was lucky to meet such a wonderful person and share in her generosity and love. Her spirit, values and warmth will live on in the many people she has touched: her friends, family and sons, Loren and Steven who’s lives I am so fortunate to be a part of.
