OBITUARY

Robert "Bob" A. Eisenstein, age 68

Beloved husband of the late Peggy L. Eisenstein nee Corbin. Loving father of Jessie (Tim) Jury, Sharyl (Carl) Van Ostrand, David (Jeremy Tromburg) Eisenstein, Jamie (Tim) Dornfeld, Stephanie (Peter) Riordan, Katie Lassen and father in his heart to Brad Vah. Devoted grandfather of Joshua, Griffin, Mirabel, Audrey, Shay and Emilia. Dear brother of Linda (Larry) Friedman, Gary (Judy) Eisenstein and Dr. Steven (Elizabeth) Eisenstein, and brother-in-law of Nancy (Larry) Burrows. Loving and beloved uncle, friend and mentor. A sharp businessman and "people" person, he was able to realize his passion for cars and family every day as a third generation auto dealer. At Harold Motors, he worked alongside his father, brother and some of his children throughout his career. Bob married his high school sweetheart, Peggy, and together they built a large and loving family, opening their home to foster children from the time they were barely adults themselves. Their home was always overflowing with friends, family, international exchange students and anyone who needed a place to stay. He fought a brave battle against Parkinson's for 19 years. He lost Peggy, the love of his life, in 2016, but took comfort in his family - especially as proud "Boppa" to his grandchildren. A thoughtful optimist, Bob was described by many as the kindest man they ever knew. He will be remembered, loved and missed forever for his quirky sense of humor and generous spirit. Service Sunday, March 19 at 12:30 PM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851, Skokie Blvd. (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment Westlawn. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to The Michael J. Fox Foundation Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163, www.michaeljfox.org or METAvivor, 1783 Forest Drive #184, Annapolis, MD 2140, www.metavivor.org would be appreciated. Dear Jamie, David, Sharyl, Jessie & all The Eisenstein Family, Deeply saddened for the loss of both your great & wonderful Mother & Father, the best human beings I have known. I'm grateful for their friendship & am a better person inspired by their kindness. Please accept my apologies for being out of the loop: wasn't sure how to reach your Mom or Dad & had long ago deactivated my face book account until today. Have always been touched by the love they expressed for their children. Thinking of all of you & sending love -Mary Jadernak Walsh
