OBITUARY

Shirley Leavitt nee Linson, age 92.

Beloved wife for 50 years of the late Sol. Cherished mother of Della (Roy Bossen) Leavitt, Debbie (Richard) Roof, Steve (Colleen Cody) Leavitt and Michael (Lisa) Leavitt and the late Nancy Leavitt Lebowicz. Joyous grandmother of Rich Leavitt, Matt Leavitt, Katie Roof, Alan Roof, Ari (Leah) Lebowicz, Eli (Temima) Lebowicz and Morris David Bossen. Great grandmother of the adorable JJ Lebowicz. Dearest sister of Bernard (Rose) Linson, Edith (the late Jack) Latter and the late Mort (the late Adelle) Linson, the late Leo (the late Helene) Linson, the late Max (the late Helen) Linson and the late Pearl (the late Walt) Levenstein. Fond sister in law to many and to Joyce (the late David) Leavitt. Loving cousin and aunt of many nieces and nephews. One of the unforgettable "Mah Jongg Ladies" survived by Arlene (the late Richard) Don. Volunteer bookkeeper for 25 years for the Highland Park Hadassah House. Life member of Hadassah and Women’s American ORT. Shirley and Sol joined North Suburban Synagogue Beth El in 1956 where all five of their children were educated. Proud 1941 graduate of Jones Commercial High School and life-long Chicago White Sox fan. Service Monday 10:00 AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 8851 Skokie Blvd (at Niles Center Road), Skokie. Interment Memorial Park.
