Dear Rachel, Sarah, Erin and Dorota,
I am at a loss for words to describe how saddened I am to hear of Marks passing. Although it has been some time, the memories of happy hours spent in your home are vividly with me, and I had so hoped to be able to reconnect with Mark on future visits to Chicago.
I will never forget the time he took you, Rachel, to a father-daughter dance when you were about five....how he shone as the two of you shared a warm-up dance at home before leaving. He in a suit and tie, you in a beautiful dress standing on his feet as you danced around the living room. Or how proud he was at your Bar Mitzvah, Sarah, watching you become a young woman or, Erin, the passion in his voice when he spoke of his first-born daughter.
Dorota, you and Mark always were so generous and kind to me, welcoming me into your home and truly making me feel part of your family, giving me a sense of having come home when I was with you.
I can only imagine what you all must be going through and I send you my warmest thoughts in this difficult time.
Much love from your,
Nikolaj

Dear Sarah, Rachel, Erin and Dorota,
I was shocked and very saddened by the news of Mark's passing. I have such wonderful and warm memories of Mark - from my childhood, as a teenager and young adult.
Even if our families would only meet occasionally because of the distance, there was so much warmth, love and hospitality when we did see each other. I particularly treasure the times I went to see you on my own. Mark would always pick me up at the airport, take me shopping for special foods, proudly show me around town, take me out for dinners, concerts and trips to the museum. I always felt truly at home with you, Dorota and Mark - your house was a home away from home, which is unique when your 'original' home is thousands of miles away.
My heart is with you during this difficult time.
Much love,
Tami
