OBITUARY
Irvina Warren nee Perman, died on December 28, 2021 at the age of 88. Born and raised in the Austin neighborhood of Chicago, she attended Chicago Public Schools, received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago and a masters in Social Work from Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH.
As a young social worker at Michael Reese Hospital, she met a medical student named Sherwyn Warren whom she would later marry the day after he graduated from medical school. Their marriage lasted 63 years until Sherwyn’s death in 2019.
Irvina lived for over 50 years in Winnetka, IL where she raised her children, became an avid tennis player and volunteered for a number of municipal and non-profit organizations. Recently she relocated to Evanston, IL and enjoyed her few months at her new location.
She is survived by her sons: Douglas (Wendy) Warren, Adam (Karen) Warren and Mitchell (Jeannine) Warren. Grandchildren: Dana Warren, Jamie Warren, Elyse (Ronald) Peterson, Robert (Elsa) Warren, Elizabeth (Christopher) Prostka, Nicholas White, Benjamin (Emily) Warren, Abigail Warren and Samuel Warren. Great grandchildren: Russell and Molly Peterson and Cameron and Mackenzie Prostka. Dear sister of the late Sherwood (Rochelle) Perman.
Service Thursday 10AM at North Suburban Synagogue Beth El, 1175 Sheridan Road, Highland Park, IL 60035. (Attendees must be vaccinated) Interment Zion Gardens Cemetery, Chicago. Due to the pandemic, there will be no shiva.
