June M. Alter nee Mikell, 91

Beloved mother of Charles Alter, Kay Lapid, Edward (Kathy) Alter and Bradley (Beth) Alter. Loving bubbie of Lindsay Alter, Molly Alter (Marcal Garolera), Jesse (Maria) Alter, Inbal Lapid (Adam McCullough), Leor (Samantha) Lapid, Doron Lapid (Suzanne Rich), Andrew Alter (Jena Marcott), Amanda (Pat) Seals, Raanan (Andrea) Alter, Daniel Alter, Talia (Michael) Gevaryahu, Gabriela (Jared) Scher and Bayla Alter. Dear great grandmother of Ethan, Aria, Amelia, Miles, Leon, Ella, Kaila, Coby, Ezra, Simon and Anne. Cherished sister of the late Annette Mikell and the late Ruth (Dr. David) Marcus. I grew up across the street from the Alter family in Tucson and spent a great deal of time with "Mrs. Alter" and Chuck, Kay, Eddie and especially Bradley, the youngest, who was born on my father's (obstetrician) birthday and occasionally needed babysitting. I was away in college when June left Tucson so we lost touch for awhile, but renewed our friendship when I was able to visit her in her apartment in Skokie. I will remember her as a caring "Jewish mother" who took the time to listen to me and offer sage advice, even though she had four children of her own to look after. She was devoted to family and friends for 91 years, and leaves a wide and deep legacy.
