Ira has been part of our Kehillat Ma'arav lives for many years. He has enriched our annual Yom Kippur observance by speaking meaningfully (and entertainingly) during our midday break. We've shared meals with him and Rachel in his condo and in our sukkah. And Beverly has tremendously enjoyed speaking about her books on his KABC radio show. Ira was a mensch and will be missed.

I remember with love the many nights listening to Ira. He was a great entertainer and teacher. In later years, I enjoyed meeting him on my visits to Kehillat Ma'arav. He remained a wonderful personality even despite the health challenges he faced. His memory will always be a blessing.

Ira and Rachel were Diana's college classmates.
They attended Diana's retirement party in 2012 and our wedding in 2013. We're glad we got to know Ira and spend time with him and Rachel these last few years. He was always a source of good information and good spirits. We're sad that there won't be any more erudite comments from Ira at Passover Seders or leisurely dinners at a favorite restaurant. Farewell, Ira. You will be missed.
