OBITUARY

Judi Stone, 85, recently of Lincolnshire, passed away peacefully on June 1. She is survived by Dick, her husband of 53 years, children David Stone and Amy (Mark) Haggarty, and grandchildren Kai and Caleb Haggarty. She is also the loving sister of Andi Polisky and sister-in-law of Robert (Shirley) Stone, Ronald (Meryl) Stone, and Dianne Stone.

Judi was born on May 6, 1938 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to parents Max and Rose Polisky, and grew up as an outstanding student in Appleton. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin and was a proud AEPhi sorority sister. Following college, Judi moved first to Chicago and then decided to experience life on the West Coast. She moved to Los Angeles and worked as a teacher during the week and a flight attendant on weekends. After being swept off her feet by Dick, and a 1970 Las Vegas wedding, the newlywed couple returned to Chicago together. Following the birth of their two children, the family moved to Highland Park, where she lived for approximately 45 years. Judi and Dick shared a wonderful life that included traveling the world and watching their grandchildren grow up.

Services will be held at 10 AM on Sunday, June 4 at Chicago Jewish Funerals (8851 Skokie Boulevard in Skokie). Interment to follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Norridge. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cancer Wellness Center at 215 Revere Drive, Northbrook, IL 60062 (www.cancerwellness.org), where Judi volunteered for many years.
