My father passed away when I was 19 and to this day I will never forget the hug that “Mrs.Levin” enveloped me in that conveyed so much love and support. And of course remembering her sitting on the couch studying for her social work degree while complete chaos ensued around her. Her memory is a blessing.

My deepest sympathies to all of you. Your mother was so sweet and never complained. I’ve known your mother for 65 years and she was always cheerful . I was amazed that she went and got her degree with 6 children running around..
Again a big hug to all.

we tried to think of just one memory out of so many when thoughts of her, and stuart, will come to us, reminding us of all the other special times. we both said without hesitation that on the third day of pessach each year it will be the pot luck dinners that without fail will remind us of the levins, and how fortunate to have been a part of your lives. may your pain at lost be comforted soon by only sweet memories.

Baruch Dayan HaEmet. It is with deep sadness that I write these thoughts. Bobbie (z"l) and Steart (z"l) were neighbors (our houses backed up to each others on the diagonal back in Rogers Park in the 60's. I will always remember how they filled their backroom with orchids and how they filled their lives with family, joy, and mitzvot. In addition to raising six wonderful children, Bobbie and Stuart gave so much to the Jewish community. Bobbie exemplified the finest in leadership of North Boundary Hadassah. Bobbie was beautiful, inside and out. Her memory will be a blessing for all whose life she touched.

Bobbie was much more than a Hadassah friend. Her generosity was legendary, whether we were talking about something material or her never-ending capacity to be a good listener and when appropriate, to offer sage advice. Bobbie always asked how I was. I once told her that I was frustrated that one of my daughters had inexplicable pain, but no doctor could explain why. She immediately told me to take my daughter to see Larry Layfer which gave her a diagnosis and treatment plan. I will be forever grateful. Her life was a blessing to us all.

We are so sorry to read about the loss of your mother and grandmother, z”l. Together with your beloved father, she was a good friend to my parents, Chaskel and Margot Schlesinger, a”h, through Congregation Ezras Israel and to my mother through Hadassah as well. I remember her as a woman full of life and goodness. As a reporter for WBBM radio, I interviewed her one time about her group gefilte fish project with her friends. It was a wonderful feel-good story! My parents, z”l, were Holocaust survivors and she once told them that she set out to have six children, one to represent each of the six million Jews murdered by the Nazis! Your father was a kind man who never refused my requests for his expertise in interviews anytime a story about infectious diseases made the news. He was also instrumental in helping my daughter remain shomer Shabbat during her ob/gyn residency at Rush, even though he was mainly retired by then. He still wielded enough influence to ensure that she would not be forced to work on Shabbat! Both your parents were wonderful and I assume they’re back together now in the world to come.
Our deepest condolences on your loss.
