Funeral Details

Janet A. Rosenberg, nee Rosenthal Janet Rosenberg, 86, of Northbrook, IL, formerly of Wilmette and Glenview, born Chicago, died November 11, 2017. A proud 1952 graduate of Purdue University, she was a well-loved early childhood teacher at Avoca West elementary school for 35 years, former board member of Project Linus, great friend, bridge player, baker, advocate of liberal causes and life-long, finally-satisfied Cubs fan. She was the beloved wife of Richard "Dick" Rosenberg for more than 62 years, formerly of Passaic, N.J.; loving sister and sister-in-law to the late Jimmy and Jerry Rosenthal; loving sister-in-law of Judith R. Birsh. The rock of the family, Janet is leaving a large hole in the lives of her much-loved children Nancy Engel (Dan), Debra Rosenberg (Joe Boyd), Bob Rosenberg (Kathi); grandchildren David (Tahli), Josh and Rebecca Engel, and Elizabeth and Ben Rosenberg; great grandchildren Asher and Laila Engel; and loved nieces and nephews. There will be no funeral service. A gathering to celebrate her life will be held at a later date in December. Contributions in her name may be made to the charity of your choice.
