Bubbie Gerty was truly someone I look up to and someone who I will always love so much.
She died at 91. she truly was so special she was one of those people that stuck up for what they believe in. Her husband, Zaidie Ruby told us that She used to organize marches and rallies for Israel and she used to be at the front of these rallies and march. She had so much love for Israel and her dream was to be buried there. And thatâ??s where she is Iâ?YH going to be Buried in Ramat Beit Shemesh.
Her husband (my great grandfather , my zaidie who is 93 years old Baruch HaShem) always told us â??your bubbie she never ever gives upâ? he told us that the amount of times she has been in the hospital over the years that they thought it was going to be the end she always always fought till the end and made it out alive. Even though on the outside it recently looked like there was no life to her because she had dimensia and this passed time when I saw her in Chicago she got worse and couldnâ??t even talk. So it looked like there was no person there you know? But inside she was there and you could just see it when you looked at her and realize there was an amazing woman that she used to be and so we talked to her cause we knew she could hear us.

A fond memory that I have of her is teaching me and my cousin how to stay the ×?×? נשתנ×? in Yiddish on the coach. And I remember her saying the words so clearly with the twinkle in her eyes that made you feel so special and that being Jewish is the most beautiful thing in the world.

She made sure to instill in her children how important it is to be Jewish. She was the light of the family and always brought Joy into the room.
Even though she had dimensia and she was very old, every single shabbos she would light candles and her husband would help her but that was her mitzvah and Halacha that I saw her keep constantly every single week.

There are so many ways to describe her but I think a couple of the words that would truly descr
