Debbie was a sweetheart - always with a smile. I enjoyed many dinners with her and the girlfriends. I got to know her as my cousin Ilene was a girlfriend of her’s from grammar school. I was included often in their get together. Great personality and inquisitiveness. I will miss her.

Most humans do not radiate truly extraordinary warmth. But Debbie was made of different stuff. It must have been the combination of the red curly hair, that 100-kilowatt smile, and a personality that wrapped itself all around you and made you feel so special.

I write these loving words on behalf of my sister, Linda Usheroff. Debbie was her very best friend of decades. They met in an elevator as young single women and had an enduring bond lasting all the way to each other’s 80th birthdays. Linda’s daughter Marni and I were beneficiaries of all that affection and reflect it back to Hank, Matt, and Gillian in this time of grievous loss.
