OBITUARY

Judith Ann “Judy” Frisch (née Hecht), age 89, passed away peacefully on May 21, 2026. Born on June 23, 1936, to Bernard and Dorthe Hecht, Judy lived a life centered around family, friendship, laughter, and adventure. Judy was the beloved wife of Donald Frisch for 68 wonderful years. Together they built a loving family and shared a passion for travel that took them around the world after Judy began her career as a travel agent in her 40s.She was a devoted mother to David (Shelley) Frisch, Debra (Stuart) Shiner, and James (Bonnie) Frisch. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Dan (Laurie) Frisch, Brandon (Gabrielle) Frisch, Kendall Frisch, Jeremy Frisch, Matthew Frisch, Sydney (Noah) Pickus, and Emma Shiner, and cherished great-grandmother to Lewis Frisch. Judy was also the dear sister of Louis (Joanne) Hecht.

An avid sports fan, Judy especially loved cheering on the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs. More than anything, she loved spending time with family and friends, always bringing warmth, humor, and joy wherever she went. She truly loved life and loved having a good time with the people she cared about most.

A private funeral service will be held for the family. Shiva will be held Tuesday, May 26, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. at Max and Benny's Restaurant. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 North Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601, www.alz.org in loving memory of Judy.

Judy will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.

I mourn the loss of Judy, my childhood friend.
We were bonded in first grade through senior year in high school
I adored being at her family dinner table
and lolling in her bedroom afterward as her mother knocked on the door as her way of asking permission to enter.
They all were fun to be with, the entire family:
Judy, Dorthe, Mr. Hecht. and Butchie.
(I only found out much later when I became a grownup that Butchie was really Louis in disguise.)

Love to all. I hope you remember me.
