Dear David and Debra
Your Dad was so very proud of family.
He was so modest about all the charitable things he did.
He was one of a kind, so easy to talk to.
I was sad when he moved out of Park Plaza but, happy that I was lucky enough to see him when he stopped by about a few months ago.
You have no idea how much he loved you. I will remember him forever.

I knew Debra Pogrund-Stark from my days in Camp Ramah. . We were in the same aidah. i only met Sherwin I Pogrund once. I had the great pleasure of sitting next to him at the
Loop Synagogue in Chicago. i liked the cut of his jib. We talked about the old days and I left after leaving the service I had talked to one of Chicago's great ones. I also knew David Pogrund from Camp. But not so much, he was a good soccer player. The Pogrunds good lawyers, better people. I am a better person by having met Sherwin Pogrund. I hope people can say the same thing about me someday. I wish the family only nachas and good things.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Sherwin’s passing. He was a man of great intellect, compassion, and quiet strength—someone who made a lasting impact not only through his distinguished legal career but through the way he lived his values every day. His support of Israel and Magen David Adom, spoke volumes about his commitment to others. May his memory be a blessing to all who worked with him

My deepest condolences to the family, especially David and Deb, on the loss of your dear father,
What a mensh! He was a wonderfully effective president of Loop Synagogue, treating everyone with dignity and respect while pursuing wise policies. I listened to him as the ba'al tefilla for shacharis every shabbos for years. He had a fine voice and his cavanah shown through. But the best part was his perfect pacing-- fluent enough to move along, but slow enough to savor the meaning. I will miss him. Truly, his memory is for a blessing. With deepest condolences, --Jay Collen
