OBITUARY

Sari L. Siegel, beloved wife of the late Preston Siegel, was born and raised in Milwaukee before beginning her family in Morton Grove, Illinois. She built a life centered on family, friendship, and the people she loved most.

She was the devoted mother of Bradley (Cindy) Siegel, Cheryl Siegel and her partner Jim Kilarjian, and Jeffrey (Tricia) Siegel, and the proud grandmother of Jessica Siegel, Preston Siegel, and Owen Siegel.

Sari had a love for cruising and eagerly anticipated every adventure at sea and each new excursion. She enjoyed playing mahjong, took pride in always having her nails done, and had a special fondness for beautiful jewelry. She especially treasured her trips to Las Vegas to spend time with her beloved sisters, Enid (Wes) Bassewitz and Rona (late Edward) Mintz. In her final decade, she shared her life with her best friend and partner, Marc Berlow.

Services will be held Friday at 11:30 AM at Chicago Jewish Funerals, 195 North Buffalo Grove Road (1 Block North of Lake Cook Road), Buffalo Grove. Interment at Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the 2026 Walk to End Alzheimers, tinyurl.com/2026AlzheimersWalk. To attend the funeral livestream, please visit the funeral home’s website. Sari and I were part of a birthday group pre covid . She was opinionated and loud and funny and so very smart . She did her research and explained Medicare and supplemental healthcare plans so thoroughly that I was able to figure it out at a time when I was very overwhelmed. Cherish the good times . May her memory be a blessing .❤️

I didn’t know Sari for very long but she stole my heart the first day we met. I had the pleasure of spend time with her in the last months of her life playing cards and reminiscing. I will miss spending time with her and her family. .

SariLynn was one of a kind, for sure. Our mothers were friends, so we met in a playpen. There was never a dull moment w/my friend SariLynn. Somewhere between 6 and 11yrs during play time there were disagreements. These “little” fights were over when Sari tore one of my dresses! It happened a few times, then my mom called her mom and it stopped. Well girls will be girls!

I remember our mothers taking us on a city bus to a Milwaukee BRAVES game at County Stadium.
Then a walk to Ace Restaurant for HOT FUDGE Sundaes!
Our mothers were great, they sent us to Camp Sidney Cohen. Overnight camp, we had a ball. Sari had a trunk full of candy. (Candy from home was a definite No at Sidney Cohen). Sari got in trouble for that, of course
if possible she brought more candy the next year!!
Then we were 16 and driving, To watch Sari ask, beg and tell her Dad Jake, he was so handsome he had to let her have the car. It didn’t make much sense but after about 40 minutes he finally gave her the keys. For those of us who had the pleasure of watching a pro at work, it was sheer entertainment.
Notice I skipped many years. Also, many stories. There isn’t
enough space for the almost eighty years. Our friendship was stormy at times but always recovered. Then stormy, then
we never forgot our history. We had PJ parties and more laughter. I miss her already. Even w/the ups and downs we
never forgot 47th and 48th Streets in Milwaukee, Wi. Where we lived our childhood.
As adults we shared our children’s birth, Bat & Bar Mitzvahs
grandchildren, our 30th, 40th, 50th, well all the big birthdays
and Our sorrows, loss of her husband Preston, loss of my precious son Ted and our other family members.
We shared a lifetime of friendship and family. I feel it already.
