Motek was a warm and wonderful person who always had something good to say to me. He was among the last of my mother's family who survived the Holocaust and came to this country to make a new life. May his memory be for a blessing.

Morris Gzesh was a good friend of my father, Morris Pietrkowski, also a Survivor from Lodz. I believe they met each other at Kesser Maariv shul on Greenview and Devon in East Rogers Park in Chicago around 1965. I remember Morris and Agnes coming to visit us in our apartment on Greenview and Albion often. They always came with bags full of baked goods from the bakery where Morris worked. My brother and I loved the sweets in those bags. We rarely had bakery sweets at home, so it was a real treat. Sometimes, our family was picked up by Morris and Agnes and they drove us to their Skokie home. There we had dinner and played with their 2 sons. I will never forget playing with the boys' electric race cars on the racetrack and playing a game called Mouse Trap. The boys were so nice to us. We were children of Holocaust Survivors who had recently come to Chicago from Wroclaw, Poland. Even now, in 2023, I think about the Gzesh family with great fondness.
